This mini-course is called, “What is Anthropology?” It examines each of the 4 fields of Anthropology, including typical questions each field asks and some real-world applications. What Is This Course Like?
In this free mini-course, you will watch narrated slideshow lectures. Most lectures are under 5 minutes long. At the end of each unit, there is a short activity and a quick quiz. The activity is meant to help you engage with the course materials, and each one will take you about 30 minutes to complete. Just download the PDF worksheet and type your answers directly into the PDF! I’ll go over the answers in the following lecture. The quiz only has 5 multiple choice questions, and you need to get 4 correct in order to pass the quiz. You can re-take the quiz multiple times until you earn 80% or more.
Please note: Since this is a free mini-course, there are some differences between this course and my full-length courses. There are no talking-head style videos in this mini-course, and the lectures are very short. My full-length courses include talking head videos and the lectures have much more detail. This mini-course is just to give you a quick look into what my full-length courses are like!
This mini-course is self-paced, meaning you can enroll at any time and work on it at any time! You have a year from the date of signup to complete the course. However, it should take you less than 4 hours to finish the whole course. You need to complete 80% of the course lessons in order to pass the course. And, you get a full-color personalized certificate when you’re done, like the one below!
How to Take an Anthropology 4U Course
Before you can enroll in the course, you need to sign up for an account on the Anthropology 4U website. Just go to the “Join” option in the menu at the top of the page, and then click on “Register.” Enter your information, and then confirm your email address. Then, just login to your account using the “Club Login” option at the top right of your screen.
Now it’s time to sign up for a course. Go to “Academy” in the menu on the top of your screen. Then click on the title of the course you want to take. Next, click on the “Take This Course” button. Under the course image, click on “Curriculum” and then click on the title of the first lecture and start learning! All of these directions are also on the Academy page of this website.
How to Return to a Course Later
If you want to return to your course later, just login to your account using the “Club Login” option at the top right of your screen. Now you will be in your Profile. Scroll down and choose “Courses” in the menu on the left side. Click on “Purchased” and then click on the course title and continue learning! Once again, these directions are also on the Academy page of this website.
