FAQ About Enrollment

No, there are no prerequisites. You don’t need to take a certain course before you can enroll in another course. Each course is self-contained, and you can take the courses in any order.

That’s fine! These courses are for beginners, and you don’t need to know anything about Anthropology to take these courses. I teach you everything you need to know!

Yes! If you are in high school, you can still take these courses. If you are a minor, please make sure you have permission from your parent or guardian.

In order to take a course, you must have:

1. access to the internet

2. a web browser, like Chrome

3. software to open and view PDF files (like Adobe Reader)

Please note: Course assignments involve typing your answers into PDF files. I suggest using a computer for these parts of the course, as it may be difficult to do on a mobile device. You can also write your answers in a notebook.

Optional: You need a printer, paper, and a pen/pencil ONLY if you want to print out PDF worksheets and write on them instead of typing directly into the PDF itself.

FAQ About Courses

The format of each course is slightly different. Please check the course information page for details. All courses are made up of video lessons. These video lessons contain narrated slideshows and talking head videos. Some courses have links to supplemental resources (such as web articles and YouTube videos).

Some courses have short activities after each lecture, while other courses have short activities at the end of each unit. Each of these activities will take about 15-30 minutes to complete. At the end of most units, there is a short quiz of about 5 questions. All full-length courses have a final assignment, called the “Be Like an Anthropologist” activity. This is where you have the opportunity to go out “in the field” and do something that an Anthropologist would do! These activities will take you about an hour to complete, maybe more. I provide the answers to each activity in both a video and a PDF.
